Kingdom Goals with Bupe Nsofu
The scariest thing about being a young christian is the constant need to "fit in" the constant moments of "fomo" (fear of missing out) that pop out every time you engage with other young people. Our generation is constantly on the move, we are constantly coming up with new ways to make money, new ways to stay relevant and new ways to be trendsetters, in these busy lives of ours have we forgotten about God? Our relationship with him? Or will we probably do what everyone else does, put on a "churchy mask" wear it every sunday, raise our hands and shout 'your a good God' then go back to our normal lives? But yet again the question then goes back to what is normal?
Full time student, SA YouTuber and small business owner Bupe is on the run to make christian merchandise relevant, hip and exciting for all young christians finding it hard to "fit in"; 'we are different from other young people, yes I'm a sinner, yes I make mistakes but what sets me apart is that I have Jesus' (those are her famous words, as she wants to be remembered for making the kingdom look cool and for people being able to see Christ in her).
The plan is to be able to proudly and confidently say you are a young christian without feeling like you will be judged, looked down on or even prosecuted. I, for one am a young christian that is finding it hard to bring my friends within the kingdom without making it look like the kingdom is for our parents and we belong to the "streets" *giggles* (I honestly have no idea how we come up with such sayings).
Moments with Bupe
Q: Why this kind of business
A: The need for christian merchandise, especially for young people trying to stay relevant and within the kingdom. I honestly feel it would really be nice to just rock up at varsity with a t-shirt that has a bible verse on it, that on its own is a conversation starter.
Q: Entrepreneurship in 3 words for you
A: Leadership, Stewardship and Difference
Q: What gets you up in the morning
A: God's grace!, gratitude for living in a foreign country and reaching so many milestones that most young girls find as a dream.
Wouldn't it be nice to rock up at varsity with a t-shirt that said 'your life matters to Jesus', I mean think about it, it would be you not only living a life that pleases God but you would also stay relevant, trendy and definitely stylish as you make others see the impact of Christ through you.
Let's make the new habit of supporting local businesses but most importantly let's make the Kingdom Cool!
